This page is a place holder for my old site. Documents still on the castleamber.com domain are linked from this web page. If those documents or relevant ones, are available on Perl programmer John Bokma's home page, a link is provided.
I used an Acorn Archimedes a lot. I wrote a small tutorial on how to write an entire harddisk to CD and use that on an "Archie".
I wanted to move my Usenet help postings to a website based help service I called Ask John. However, I got too many Java, CGI, Xara, and Perl support questions, some even very difficult, so I had to close down the service.
Ask John is a free service. You can ask questions about Java, Perl, CGI or Xara. I try to answer your questions as soon as possible. Previous answers are available on-line.
My personal website has a lot of Perl help, examples, and tutorials and some Xara related info.
I wrote some Corel Xara tutorials and called those Xarials. I want to move them all to my personal site one day.
Never really started with the Bookmarks web page. I try to add interesting links to my blog called MexIT - a freelance Perl programmer in Mexico.
Back in 1996 I started with Java programming. I wrote several small Java applets which are available on my Java page. I also wrote a simple Java ticker applet, and a webcam applet (AmberCam).
I am available as a freelance Perl programmer. See my company site, Castle Amber for more information.
